March Madness is in full swing — and not just on the basketball court!

This month has brought plenty of excitement to our school community. We are incredibly proud of our Boys Basketball Team for winning the sectional championship, following in the footsteps of our Lady Bulldogs, who earned their sectional title last month. It's been an amazing season for our student-athletes and our school community!

Here in the Counseling Office, it’s been a busy time as well with SAT testing, planning next year’s schedules, and helping everyone stay focused as we wrap up the third 9-week grading period. This month, we're reminded that success — academic, athletic, and personal — comes from preparation, perseverance, and finishing strong.

This month also recognizes National School Social Work MonthNational Nutrition Month, and National Sleep Awareness Month, all of which remind us that academic success is closely tied to personal well-being. The counseling office is here to help students stay on track—whether it comes to academic planning, exploring postsecondary options, or building healthy habits that support learning. As we head into the final stretch of the 3rd quarter, we encourage students to stay focused and reach out if they need support!

Course Scheduling Update: 2026-27
Thank you to all students who completed their course requests (and to the family, friends, and staff who helped them)! Course requests in StudentVue are now closed. I will be reviewing requests over the next several weeks to make sure everyone has the correct classes in the system for next year.

I know some students will have second thoughts and change their class choices, so they should expect to see a schedule-change request form in the coming weeks that they can fill out if they want to make any adjustments. And, as always, students are welcome to schedule an appointment to meet with me about their schedules, ask questions about grad requirements, and/or discuss future plans! Please see the contact info box below for links to schedule appointments.

FAFSA Night at LHS
Our FAFSA Completion Night is coming up in just a few weeks. Seniors and families are encouraged to attend for FREE help in completing this crucial financial aid form. Experts from INvestEd will help you file the FAFSA with confidence while avoiding common mistakes.

Families of juniors are also welcome to attend if you'd like a preview of what to expect in the financial aid process in the years ahead!
