Wireless Network Performance Survey Results
Dear Students, Staff, and Parents,
FLCS recently partnered with Integrity Network Solutions to survey wireless network performance across all schools.
Key Findings:
Signal strength, coverage, and data speeds were consistently good to very good.
The primary concern identified was high channel interference caused by hotspots, wireless printers, and other rogue devices.
Steps Already Taken / In Progress:
Disabled wireless on printers where possible.
Identifying and addressing rogue/unknown access points.
Phasing out 2.4GHz usage where unnecessary (bus garage, tech office, and athletics remain exceptions).
Renaming and splitting athletics SSIDs for clearer management.
Configured APs for 20MHz channels, auto channel/power, and nightly spectrum optimization.
Upgraded equipment to Unifi AP 6 Pro and added HD, XG, and BaseStation XG units in high-density areas.
These improvements will significantly reduce interference and provide a faster, more reliable wireless experience for students and staff. Thank you for your patience and support during this important upgrade process.
